Portland City Commissioner Amanda Fritz

I became Amanda's webmaster--developer and host--in her first campaign for Portland City Council in 2006. She was the first publicly funded candidate in Portland history, which I suppose makes me the first publicly funded webmaster of a campaign site in Portland history. :)
In 2006, Amanda lost, but I encouraged her to begin blogging at AmandaFritz.com. She did, and it may have helped her with name recognition (at least, I think so) leading up to the 2008 election, which she won.
With her election win, Amanda puts most of her time and energy into her official website; she maintains her campaign website, and blogs now and again on the non-campaign site.
Both of these websites were originally built on Drupal 4.7 (I know!), and were recently updated to 5.x. If/when she runs for re-election (I have no reason to suppose she won't but one doesn't assume), we will upgrade everything to at least 6.x if not move straight to 7. The tools I developed for her campaign staff and volunteer system worked well for the state of Drupal at the time, but are really outdated now. I look forward to designing a new system.
