The Writers Dojo is both a writers' room and a literary magazine, based in Portland, Oregon.

I took Kim Lofgren's design, and built out the site in Drupal 5.x; when I started, Drupal 6 was new enough that several key modules weren't available yet. At the time I built this, I had to write a whole bunch of code that I can now use modules for; it'd be exciting in a sick way to rebuild everything in a more elegant way in Drupal 6.

The Writers Dojo site uses the modules Secure Pages, Ubercart, Ad, Audio, and Views among others, several custom content types, a sophisticated design with many different page layouts, and a lot of custom scripting. The front page and several interior pages flow new content automatically through a series of page positions with no user changes involved other than addition of content.
